Glittering Finale for FOP 2012

The search for the Face of Plymouth 2012, to find two young people who will be ambassadors for the city in the coming year and take part in a host of activities and appearances, came to a spectacular conclusion at the weekend (Saturday 21 July).

Oliver Peppiatt, Watch Manager for Michael Spiers in Plymouth and Adam Spiers were there on the night, with Oliver Tweeting about the hundreds strong audience as the excitement built towards the announcement of the winners: "This crowd is fantastic!!!!"

The winners were 21 year old Amy Miles from Plympton, a University of Plymouth Student and volunteer at Woodside Animal Sanctuary, and Kadus Smith who is 22 and from Stoke. Kadus is a national dance champion and an inspiration to the youngsters he teaches in his dance classes. It was his pupils who convinced him to take part in Face of Plymouth 2012.

"Both were worthy winners," said Oliver, who was on the judging panel. "In the live final where all the competitors shone, Amy and Kadus stood out."

Adam said: "Michael Spiers is very proud to be associated with a contest that showcases the best of young people in Plymouth. So many people from all over the city get behind it that the atmosphere by the final is electric, and it's great that it's all done in a spirit of camaraderie amongst the competitors and supporters."

Last years winners Emma Fellows and Lawrence Barnes, as well as receiving jewellery from Michael Spiers, took part in an exclusive photography session for the independent jeweller. The stunning pictures, with Emma and Lawrence modeling some of Michael Spiers beautiful jewellery, were proudly displayed in the company's Plymouth showroom.

Later this year Amy and Kadus will be presented with Gucci watches at a party held in their honour at Michael Spiers Plymouth showroom.
