Luxurious Evening for Guests at Best Hotel in CornwallDirectors, managers and staff of the Michael Spiers Jewellers Group’s Truro store hosted a special evening at the luxury Nare Hotel in Cornwall to showcase its range of Patek Philippe watches which are renowned to be some of the world’s most exquisite timepieces Michael Spiers is the only official retailer of the hand made and hand finished watches in the South West peninsula, and since winning the coveted status in June of last year, has stocked an exclusive collection which has attracted watch enthusiasts from around the world. Adam Spiers, managing director, said: “It was a fantastic evening. The Nare Hotel has a stunning position, overlooking Carne Beach which as the sun set created a backdrop equal to anything that can be seen at continental beach locations, and the staff and management looked after us all impeccably.” 26 guests enjoyed an exclusive preview of the Patek 2012 collection, and enjoyed fine food and wine. Staff from Michael Spiers explained the finer details of the models that were available for the private viewing, including Truro showroom watch manager Ben Franklin who is one of only 14 UK retailers to have attended the Patek Philippe training course in Switzerland. Also on hand were very special visitors from Patek Philippe, Peter Miller and Adrian Lurshay, UK Brand Director and Peter Miller, Display and Training Manager who passed on their encyclopaedic knowledge of the family run Swiss watchmakers history and current expertise to an appreciative audience. The company motto of Patek Philippe reads: “You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation.” Each Patek Philippe watch is allocated a unique number and the name of its first purchaser is also recorded. Because of this we know that in 1851, both Queen Victoria and Prince Albert purchased pendant watches at the Great Exhibition in London. That such an historic and iconic company should choose Michael Spiers in Truro as its agent, was a huge scoop for the South West, and interest in what are unquestionably the finest mechanical watches in the world at Michael Spiers Truro showroom has remained very high. |
