THE BEST FROM BASELEvery year the directors and a team of buyers from Michael Spiers, led by Chairman Keith White MBE, travel to the worlds largest and most prestigious watch and jewellery exhibition, Baselworld. 2012 was no exception and they report a very successful trip. Held over 8 days in the city of Basel in Switzerland, the exhibition featured pavilions for the worlds finest watch and jewellery manufacturers and welcomed over 100,000 professionals from every continent. Michael Spiers joined the elite of the watch and jewellery world, and were proud to represent the South West in Switzerland. Managing Director Adam Spiers reveals: “By attending Baselworld we not only afford ourselves an opportunity to be at the front of the queue for allocations of prestigious watch brands like Patek Philippe, Rolex, Omega, Breitling and Tag Heuer, but it also gives us a heads up on the latest trends. So you can expect our stores to be showing the new watch models first, and staying ahead of the game in fine jewellery." Adam continues: "A visit to Baselworld allows us to buy fine jewellery direct from the manufacturers at the keenest prices, meaning we can pass on these savings to our customers whilst not compromising on quality. This has always been an important aspect of what we offer in our Truro, Plymouth, Exeter and Taunton stores." Among the beautiful and on trend pieces of jewellery purchased, Michael Spiers is proud to celebrate the Chinese year of the Dragon with an exquisite collection of gem set dragon pendants that range in price from £2,000 to £10,0000. This limited, hand made and unique collection will be exclusively available in the company’s Plymouth store from June 2012. Stars of the Baselworld show included the stunning new Rolex Sky-Dweller, the first Rolex with two time zones and an annual calendar and available in 18ct white, yellow or rose gold.
